Dean's Desk Newsletter
The Dean’s Desk serves as a bridge between the Dean’s Office and the Howard University School of Divinity community.
The Dean’s Desk serves as a bridge between the Dean’s Office and the Howard University School of Divinity community, fostering communication, inspiration, and engagement. Through reflections, institutional updates, community highlights, and opportunities for learning and service, the Dean’s Desk advances the School’s mission of leading with head and heart while cultivating a beloved community committed to faith, scholarship, justice, and transformative leadership.
The Dean’s Desk newsletter is dedicated to advancing the mission of the Howard University School of Divinity. Its purpose is to showcase the Dean’s vision for community-building initiatives and to recognize the outstanding contributions of faculty, staff, students, and alumni. We invite submissions that reflect our collective progress, commitment to excellence, and impact within the broader community. Dean’s Desk is not a platform for self-promotion. It is the public-facing engine for external advancement support, designed to foster collaboration, highlight achievements, and reinforce our community’s presence. Submissions should emphasize activities, milestones, and narratives that demonstrate the School’s mission in action and the positive influence of our community both locally and globally. We encourage submissions that:
- Showcase the School’s mission-driven endeavors and the Dean’s vision for community-building
- Celebrate notable accomplishments of faculty, staff, students, and alumni
- Promote events, projects, and partnerships that further the School’s goals and engage external supporters
- Share news that enhances the reputation and visibility of the Howard University School of Divinity
Submissions that are mainly self-promotional, unrelated to our mission, or do not advance the interests of the community may not be considered. All content will be reviewed to ensure alignment with the newsletter’s purpose and editorial standards. Thank you for supporting the Dean’s Desk and contributing to the vibrant, transformative life of the Howard University School of Divinity.
Best,
Dean
