Spiritual formation programs at HUSD the spiritual journey of the broader HUSD community. Participants grow deeper in their spiritual journey while discerning God’s call for their lives and the organizations they lead. All students, faculty, staff alumni and the broader HUSD community are welcomed to join and attend all spiritual formation programs sponsored by the School of Divinity.

We gather on Wednesdays at 5:45 pm EST in Dunbarton Chapel (West Campus - Houston Hall).

2025 Nannie Helen Burroughs Lecture

We are proud to announce, Rev. Dr. Melanie Jones Quarles is the guest lecturer for the Annual Nannie Helen Burroughs Lecture on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 5:45pm in the Dunbarton Chapel (West Campus - Houston Hall). The lecture title is "Bent Toward Justice: Black Women’s Bodies and the Problem of Salvation in Religion & Society."

The Nannie Helen Burroughs lecture annually celebrates the legacy of Washington, DC’s pioneering educator, administrator, orator, and woman of faith, Nannie Helen Burroughs.
