Spiritual Life

Spiritual Life programs at HUSD engages students, faculty, staff, and the broader HU community.  Participants grow deeper in their spiritual journey while discerning God’s expansiveness in their lives and communities.  All community members are welcomed to join and attend spiritual life programs sponsored by the School of Divinity.

Currently, the Divinity School Community worships in Dunbarton Chapel and virtually on Zoom. During the academic year, students, alumni, faculty, area residents and other guests come to fellowship and share during chapel services on select Wednesdays, as well as other special events. Speakers and artists, locally and nationally, bring a diversity of gifts to chapel services.

The Chapel serves as a venue for worship, ecumenical and interfaith exchange, parish ministry preparation, community building, and personal devotion and meditation. Students are given the opportunity to serve in four key areas that promote the Chapel's communal vision:

(1) Chapel Administration
(2) Worship Leadership
(3) Maintenance and Stewardship
(4) Praise Team.
